Scion has not existed as a brand since 2016, which means every one still on the road is an older car with real mileage, and the dealer conversation has largely evaporated. Mechanically they are Toyotas, and we treat them as such.

Common questions from Scion owners

Can an independent shop service my Scion without voiding the warranty?

Yes. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act a manufacturer cannot void your factory warranty simply because an independent shop did the maintenance. What matters is that the work is done to specification, with the right parts and fluids, and documented. We keep records and report service to Carfax, so the history follows the car.

What goes wrong on a Scion most often?

Do you use factory parts on a Scion?

We use OE or equivalent-quality parts appropriate to the job and to how long you plan to keep the car. Where an aftermarket part is genuinely as good we will say so and save you money; where the OE part is the only one worth fitting we will say that too. Either way the repair carries 48 months or 50,000 miles.

Is an independent cheaper than the Scion dealer?

Usually on labor rate, and often on parts. The bigger difference is that you talk to the person who worked on the car. What a dealer has that we do not is factory warranty authority and recall work — if your Scion needs either of those, go to the dealer and we will tell you so.

Do you service Scion hybrids and electric models?
