“We’re not about niches,” TJ explains. “We’re about excellence across the board.” Although they don’t do body work, they do everything else under the hood. If a repair falls outside their scope, they’ve built strong relationships with trusted auto body partners to make sure their customers are taken care of from start to finish.

A Winning Culture

What really sets Dakota Ridge Auto is its culture. TJ transformed his facility into a place where people want to work and customers want to come back — a far cry from the production-focused, high-pressure environments he experienced earlier in his career. That shift happened in part thanks to mentorship from industry leaders and involvement in national multi-shop leadership groups, where TJ and peers evaluate trends, business models, and employee satisfaction on a quarterly basis.
It was during COVID that Dakota Ridge truly hit its stride. With a focus on flexibility, family, and work-life balance, TJ gave his team time to recharge and re-center. That decision paid off. “We became a really tight-knit group during that time,” he shares. “It was a catalyst that took us to the next level.”

That dedication extends into the community, where TJ is deeply involved. As a parent of a seventh grader at a local charter school, he’s passionate about education and ensuring families have access to personalized learning opportunities. He currently serves on the school board at Collegiate, advocating for policies that reflect collaboration, long-term planning, and accountability — values he also instills at Dakota Ridge.
